The Wishing Well

The Wishing Well is a live, dynamic multimedia sculpture. Visitors experience how ultr-modern technology interacts with them on the illuminated floor installation. It reflects all movements as sound-pictures, flamboyant light-figures, movements and dynamics. The Wishing Well is encircled by a stone garden, raked into waves and line patterns, representing a transition from the busy daily life at Ruten to the artistic, serene experience created by your own movements, dance and play. A web camera records all interaction for the Watercolours own web-pages. The Wishing Well is best used in twilight and when it’s dark. It functions best with less than 20 persons on the interactive floor at the same time. The Wishing Well is open to the public until the 15th April 2008.

The German performance company ‘phase7 performing.arts’ which is a network of international actors, dancers, media-artists and computer experts, designs the Wishing Well. Phase7 was established in 1999 by the video artist Sven Sören Beyer The company is internationally renowned for its close co-operation with leading scientific institutes developing cutting-edge performances utilizing new and advanced technology. The performances range from dancing to video installations, opera, theatre performances and film projects.
